Our mission is to introduce people within the local community to the joys of running and at the same time improving their mental well-being and physical health.
Being a part of a club is a fantastic way to socialise, make new friends, and connect with your local community. It can boost your confidence, strengthen your sense of self – worth, and support you in achieving your personal goals.
Although independently setup and self -funded, SNJC is associated with Jog Derbyshire and Run Together which operate under England Athletics. This means that all our training sessions follows England Athletics strict guidelines and that all sessions are supervised by suitably qualified Leaders.
Rob is a UK Athletics qualified coach in both Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) and Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) and is supported by suitable trained colleagues at all training sessions.
We Also have two members currently doing their Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) and also a Co Leader supporting the Team.
All of our Training Sessions are FREE OF CHARGE
We believe this offers a wonderful opportunity for anyone who would like to come along and give our club a try out. The only things you need are your personal sports clothing and suitable running shoes.
SNJC CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF COACHING BEGINNER TO EXPERIENCED RUNNER
ABOUT SNJC
South Normanton Jog Club was originally founded to encourage people to improve their fitness and to become involved in a new adventure within the local community.
The Club was set up by myself as a way of introducing people to running through a Beginner’s jog group, Commonly known as Couch to 5K (C25K) This programme guides complete novices through a series of sessions over ten weeks, progressing from walking to jogging until they can comfortably complete a 5K (3 miles approx)
Everyone who completed the programme received a C25K medal, But far more importantly they gained the confidence and pride that comes from surpassing their own expectations.
Today, the club still welcomes newcomers and beginners, while also offering sessions suitable for more experienced runners
.SNJC is an inclusive club, where everyone is made welcome, Our members are a friendly group of mixed – abilities runners who support and encourage one another at every session.
Our Motto, “WE LOOP BACK WE DON’T STAND STILL” reflects our ethos: no one gets left behind, and we continuity regroup as a team to support and motivate all members.
